Adjusting your confidence threshold
InboxIQ assigns a confidence score to each classification and draft. The confidence threshold controls when InboxIQ acts automatically versus flagging for your review.
Where to find it
Go to Settings → AI Features → Confidence threshold.
What it controls
- High threshold (0.85–1.0) — InboxIQ only acts automatically when it's very confident. More emails will be flagged for review. Recommended when you're just getting started or in a sensitive support environment.
- Low threshold (0.5–0.75) — InboxIQ acts on more emails automatically. Suitable when you've trained InboxIQ with a good knowledge base and have seen consistent accuracy.
Default threshold
The default is 0.75. This is a conservative starting point that works well for most accounts before significant training data has accumulated.
When to lower the threshold
Lower the threshold once you've:
- Uploaded at least 10 knowledge base articles.
- Operated InboxIQ for 2–4 weeks with regular label corrections.
- Reviewed the classification accuracy in your dashboard and found it consistently accurate.
